Signal Traffic Management Limited are a UK based provider specializing in the delivery of Temporary Traffic Management services, operating across the UK. Established in 2012, Signal has grown consistently year-on-year and we are now seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to oversee our Major Projects.
Working in collaboration with our Operations Team, the successful applicant will have a primary focus on the smooth and efficient running of our Major Projects portfolio, including responsibility for managing a pool of Traffic Management Operatives, operations, budgets, project delivery and strategies.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Working under the direction of our Senior Operations Manager, the role will require the suitable candidate to:
Organise and co-ordinate resources to ensure the smooth delivery of temporary traffic management services;
Ensure appropriate method statements and risk assessments are in place;
Ensure compliance of company policies and procedures including the National Highways Sector Scheme;
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations;
Effectively manage a team of Traffic Management Operatives including conducting annual appraisals, managing performance and identifying training needs;
Conduct employment investigations including audit outcomes to ensure a timely and high quality resolution of cases;
Review workloads and manpower to ensure targets are met;
Nurture and manage the performance of Signal's Major Projects portfolio and report through monthly KPI’s.
Experience/Qualifications & Personal Attributes
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 5 years experience in a Traffic Management Operational role;
An excellent understanding of the industry, in both 12D & 12AB works/requirements and knowledge of Chapter 8;
A sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation;
Client focused including regular dialogue;
A proven record of personnel management;
Great geographical planning;
Listener, communicator and negotiator.
An excellent standard of numeracy and literacy
Good IT skills
Great organisational skills
Flexible
Full UK Drivers licence is essential
